UNDP and CIPAD conducted community Sensitization meeting on Trauma Healing and Psychosocial Support in Haisalaam Boma which ended up with the formation of Community Psychosocial Support Group.
In order to increase community awareness on causes, effects and how to handle sexual gender-based violence cases; set up community psychosocial support groups that will prevent, identify, manage and support survivors of sexual gender base violent in the communities by providing counselling services, use referral pathways, reporting cases, and manage them; and increase community capacity to address trauma at their capacities; and finally equip communities with understanding and knowledge of sexual exploitation and abuse as part of gender-based violence, Community Initiative for partnership and Development (CIPAD) with support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has conducted community Sensitization meeting on Trauma Healing and Psychosocial Support in Haisalaam in Aweil and voluntarily formed Community Psychosocial Support Group which will act as community peace structure that will support victims of gender based violence and trauma in the community and prevent occurrence of sexual gender based violence and trauma incidences.
The meeting took place on 15 February 2021 attended by 25 (20 females) participants at Haisalaam Payam office in Aweil.
