Two-days UNDP supported stakeholders dialogue on gender responsive and inclusive security services concluded in Wanjok Payam of Aweil East County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
On 12th – 13th of April 2021, the dialogue workshop was organized in response to the issue of women’s voice on the security needs and priorities of women and girls being not adequately considered by security providers as reported by women groups in various locations of Wanjok Payam. The workshop was attended by 25 (8 females) participants.
The dialogue workshop has strengthened the capacity of security providers (SSPDF, Police, Prison service, wild life and civil defense forces) and County, Payam and Boma administrators, Paramount and Boma chiefs, women and youth leaders as well as representative’s faith-based groups (Islam/ Christianity) to ensure that security sector interventions are informed by the security needs and priorities of women and girls in Wanjok Payam in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
This has resulted to security sector interventions being informed by the security needs and priorities of women and girls, in Wanjok Payam of Aweil East County.
The dialogue workshop was possible with support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with funding from United Nations Peacebuilding Funds and Government of Sweden.
