Panthou Payam community Sensitisation meeting on Trauma Healing and Psychosocial Support ended up with the formation of Community Psychosocial Support Group.
Community Initiative for partnership and Development (CIPAD) with support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has conducted community Sensitization meeting on Trauma Healing and Psychosocial Support in Panthou Payam of Aweil South County which increased community awareness on causes, effects and how to handle sexual gender-based violence cases; trauma healing; community psychosocial support; set up community psychosocial support groups to prevent, identify, manage and support survivors of sexual gender base violent in the communities by providing counselling services, use referral pathways, reporting cases, and manage them; and increased community capacity to address trauma at their capacities; and finally equipped communities with understanding and knowledge of sexual exploitation and abuse as part of gender-based violence. At the end of the meeting, community members voluntarily formed Community Psychosocial Support Group which becomes a community peace structure that provides support to victims of gender based violence and trauma in the community and prevent occurrence of sexual gender based violence and trauma incidences.
The meeting took place on 5th May 2021 attended by 25 ( 15 females) participants at Payam Office.
