CIPAD WITH SUPPORT FROM UNDP HAS CONDUCTED INTERCOMMUNAL LEARNING EXCHANGE MEETING IN NYOC-AWANY BOMA OF NYOC-AWANY PAYAM IN AWEIL SOUTH COUNTY ON 8TH DECEMBER 2021
With the aim of increasing understanding of community values to promote trauma healing and and reconciliation in Nyoc-awany Boma of Nyoc-awany Payam, Aweil South County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, Community Initiative for partnership and Development (CIPAD) with support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)’s Peace and Community Cohesion (PaCC) funded by the Government of Sweden and United Nations Peacebuilding Funds (UNPBF) has successfully conducted Inter-communal Exchange and Learning Meeting in Nyoc-Awany on 8th of December 2021 attended by 30 (14 females) participants.
Community members from Malek-alell boma were taken to Nyoc-awany boma to attend the meeting with community members of Nyoc-awany boma to share their experience on Trauma Healing and Reconciliation. The theme of the learning exchange meeting was “Trauma Healing and Reconciliation”.
Among the attendance were some members of Community Psychosocial Support Groups, chiefs, youth members, women representative, members of law enforcement agencies (police, prison service, SSPDF, etc) all from both sides to share how they identify trauma incidences, conduct trauma healing and reconciliation in their respective locations. Additional participants were representatives from State Ministry of Peacebuilding; Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare; and Commission for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation for Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.
The methods used to conduct the meeting include group discussion, presentations, mini-lectures, and sideline chats in ensuring that there is an increased understanding of community values to promote trauma healing and and reconciliation in Nyoc-awany Boma of Nyoc-awany Payam, Aweil South County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
